The Kazakh musical and dramatic theater named after Abai in Semey is considered to be the most beautiful Kazakh theater art. It was proved that the play "Enlik-Kebek" in 1917 under the leadership of Mukhtar Auezov in the "Oikaudyk" pasture was a presentation of the new art in the Kazakh land. It is a significant event that has been widely recognized during the history. Today, the burning shark in Oikuduk has become a prosperous art of the sovereign state and is engaged in the upbringing of the generations. In the 1920s, prominent artists such as Amre, Jesus, Jumat, Kalibek entered and worked for this theatre and "Es-Aimak" theater was officially approved only in 1934. Over the past 77 years, the theater has played more than 300 plays and has played an important role in educating the audience about 80 million spectators. In 1934, the theater opened its doors with the play "Kek" by Ilyas Zhansugurov, along with dozens of far and near foreign classics, as well as works of M.Auezov, G.Musrepov, B. Maylin, G.Mustafin, R.Gamzatov, Sh. Aitmatov, world dramaturgy. The play "Enlik - Kebek", "Karakoz", "Kozy Korpesh - Bayan-sulu", "Aiman-Sholpan", "Under the spells" became the golden fund of the theater repertoire. Throughout these years, artists from the theater have enjoyed the arts, working fruitfully in nearly all theaters across the country and still working. The talented artists continue their traditions with the best traditions of the orchestra, senior artists and directors. Three folk singers of Kazakhstan: Kulyash Sakieva, Abylkasym Zhanbyrbayev, Beken Imakhanov; Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Shaizat Bakhtinova, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Bolat Nogaybayev, 13 Cultural figures, 60 people. There is a band of symphony orchestras and ballet artists. The theater is making a great effort to combine classical compositions with music and combine ballet. There is also a theater studio, which produces actors in the theater. Within a short time, the studio brought hundreds of young masters to the big art. Theater is a laureate of International and Republican festivals held in Cairo.
