The Palace of Sports "Kazakhstan" is the ice palace of sport in Nur Sultan. When opened in 2001, the capacity was 4,079 spectators. According to the technical regulations of the KHL, the sports arenas of clubs must accommodate at least 5,500 spectators. In 2007, after reconstruction, the "Kazakhstan" Sports Palace began to hold 5,532 seats and became the game arena of the Hockey Club "Barys", accepted in the KHL in 2008.
In addition to the ice arena, the "Kazakhstan" Sports Palace also includes a hotel for 80 people, a swimming pool (50x25m), a children's pool (13x18m), a gym, and sports halls for various sections.
In November 2010, an additional ice skating rink added to the DS "Kazakhstan" was commissioned with a tribune for 1000 seats.
The Sports Palace "Kazakhstan" is a reflection of the sporting spirit of Nur Sultan. Every day more than two thousand people visit the palace walls, representatives of various social strata, among them professional sportsmen and amateurs, children and adults. The ability to occupy the most diverse sports more than 5,000 people has made the "Kazakhstan" a unique sports institution of the capital.
The pearl of the sports palace is the ice arena. Thanks to a unique refrigeration unit, artificial ice is smooth and transparent. Over 4,000 spectators gather in the indoor arena during the hockey match. After all, a hockey match is not only a sea of violent emotions from the heat of passions on the ice, but also one of the ways to maintain team spirit and the development of Kazakhstan's patriotism.
The existing indoor pool of the Olympic standard regularly hosts the championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan on water polo. Also regularly held and the National Swimming Championships, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Clean and warm water makes it special and affordable all year round. For judo classes there is a hall of the silver medalist of the Olympic Games Askhat Zhitkeev, training is conducted under the guidance of masters of sports. Regularly the hall hosts competitions in the "Nur Sultan-Batyry" single combat club. In the Sports Palace "Kazakhstan" mass competitions are held both on a professional and a public level. This includes hockey matches, swimming competitions, and water polo, etc.
