The Kulanshi Modern Art Center, located on the 6th floor of Nur Sultan’s Palace of Peace and Accord, is welcoming visitors to view art history films, exhibitions by domestic and foreign artists and special studio classes for children and adults.
Founded in 2006 by Kazakh artist Leyla Mahat, Kulanshi’s primary activity is organizing exhibitions by local and foreign artists at least once a month, but the center also works in other areas of art and art promotion.

Kulanshi holds exhibitions of Kazakhstan as well as foreign artists and sculptors. In the gallery everyone can see interesting pictures, installations and other things belonging to the world of art. Calm atmosphere and professional employees of the gallery can open you a great world of art.

In the Gallery with the premises of 880 square and there is an operating lithography hall, where you can see the works of Albrecht Durer, Rembrandt, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and modern masters of lithography from Germany, Great Britain and Poland.

Works of famous artists from Portugal, Turkey, Germany and Kazakhstan are in a constant display of the Modern Art Center “Kulanshi”.

There are fine arts studios for children and adults. Everybody interested in drawing, painting and composition might get necessary knowledge and develop necessary skills. Regular master classes in the Modern Art Center “Kulanshi” have a great success among students and young artists in Nur Sultan.

Modern Art Gallery “Kulanshi” holds evenings with artists, lectures and seminars on modern art and decorative-applied art of Kazakhstan.

Students and visitors can also view some of the works from the films first-hand. One of the main halls of the center hosts a permanent exhibit of classic prints and displays original lithographs by Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Marc Chagall. The classics hall has graphic works by Rembrandt van Rijn and Albrecht Durer, restored by German art conservators.

Every year, young Kazakh artists fill the exhibition areas of the center with work for the “Here and Now” project, which aims to showcase the spirit of young contemporary art in Kazakhstan.
